2D/3D Homework #1: A Cannon in Maya & UE4





It's been quite a long time since I modeled extensively in Maya (especially a prop or inorganic sort of object), so it was a lot of practice and adjustment to re-learn how to extrude from simple shapes. In the end everything ended up feeling really fun! I learned a lot of great shortcuts and noticed a lot of things that have changed in Maya since the last version I used (and I can't even remember what the last version I used was...)

In the end, I feel a lot more confident than previously! Still need a lot of work, but I'm looking forward to more complex models. Maya definitely feels a lot more familiar... but perhaps that's just because I'm uploading this after a long day of scratching my head at Houdini.
